Terry Long

Who I'm Looking to Meet

I help mid-market companies with revenues over $10Million to optimize financial efficiency. Strategies include capturing millions in tax credits, improving financial liquidity, and exit / transition planning. Some other text from Terry should go here about who’s a good referral. This section shows only to people in our network.
Who's not a fit
Companies under ~ $5 Million I generally don’t help as the cost vs benefit becomes less compelling. For good fit companies, I am highly accretive. I am not licensed to practice outside the U.S.
Referrer Thank-You
I typically budget about 10% of any project for sales and marketing or referral thank-you fees. These referral thank you payments can be substantial, in some cases over $100k

About

As a Senior Vice President and Principal in the Kansas City office, Terry provides a broad range of actuarial knowledge to his clients. With more than 40 years in the life insurance company and consulting environment, his experience ranges from traditional actuarial activities such as product development, reinsurance, statutory valuation, modeling and cash flow testing to more non-traditional activities such as regulatory consulting and expert testimony. For more than 20 years, Terry has provided actuarial valuations in connection with class action settlements as well as provided expert testimony in other insurance-related cases. Both regulatory consulting and expert testimony require strong communication skills with non-actuaries. His ability to communicate actuarial and technical issues to non-actuaries is one of Terry’s strengths. Terry has been a frequent speaker at industry meetings and has been an active volunteer with the Society of Actuaries. He has been a member of the Professional Development Committee and currently serves on the SOA’s Board of Directors.
